Mr. Ibrahim Jabir Suhuyini, launches a new book titled ‘Being Poor’

Mr. Ibrahim Jabir Suhuyini, a native of the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region and a younger brother to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Honorable Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala has launched his 224 page book titled ‘Being Poor’.

In his remarks Mr. Jabir Suhuyini, said readers will be transported to know a family and their experience, and the republic that has promised them for decades but has not fulfilled it.

He thanked the Member of Parliament for Tamale North constituency Honorable Alhassan Suhuyini and the Managing Director for TUMA Prestige Mr. Iddrisu Abdul Rashid, for inspiring him to be a writer. 

Speaking at the launch of his new book ‘Being Poor’ Mr Jabir Suhuyini expressed his concern about the attitude of chiefs, opinion leaders and civil society organization towards government policies. 

He said most of the government policies like Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) and Northern Development Authority (NDA) suffered political backlashes as a result of chiefs, opinion leaders and civil society organizations not showing any interest in the policies. 

In his remarks the MP for North Tamale constituency Hon Alhassan Sayibu who was the Special Guest of Honor of the ceremony, extended his congratulations to Mr. Jabir Suhuyini for coming out with another production after his first book titled ‘Political Deceit’.

“We are extremely proud of you Mr. Jabir”, he said.

The Tamale North law maker recounted how they formed a reading and writers club that has since impacted so many lives within Tamale Metropolis.

He thus encourage Mr. Jabir to keep writing, “and we are certain that the content in his book tells a story that everyone can relate to.”

The former Northern Regional Education Sirector Alhaji Haroun Cambodia, on his part encouraged the youth most especially the students to inculcate a reading and writing habit among themselves. 

Other personalities who attended the launching ceremony include, Member of Parliament for Mion constituency Hon Aziz Ayaba, Member of Parliament for Tamale Central Hon Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala, among others.
