The second edition of a festival that celebrates and showcases the rich cultures of the country’s diverse communities, dubbed the ‘Cultural Oneness Festival’, has been scheduled to take place in Tamale in the Northern Region from November 13 -16, 2024.

The four days festival had a diverse range of activities including, a meeting of cultural groups, a durbar for the various chiefs, a business forum where investors and think tanks from different sectors will dialogue on issues of economic transformation, focusing on areas such as agriculture, tourism, arts and culture, youth development and entrepreneurship through digitalization.

They include street carnival, fashion show, exhibition among others.

Speaking at a press briefing over the weekend, the Chief Executive of The Taste of Afrika, organizers of the Cultural Oneness Festival, Tengol K. Kplemani, while highlighting the significance of the event say “the festival intended to contribute and promote unity and inter-cultural cohesion and present a platform for the people of Northern Ghana to showcase to the diaspora as one of the country’s interesting tourism destinations”.

“Northern Ghana will be a power house for bringing the continent together”, he stressed.

The Cultural Oneness Festival celebrates the diverse and rich cultures within our communities. Its purpose is to strengthen the underlying kinship and cultural strands that bind Africans on the continent and in the diaspora with people of African descent throughout the world, while portraying and celebrating their broad cultural diversity.

One of the key differentiators of this initiative is combining the performing arts with tourism and economic development, all for the purpose of promoting cultural literacy and celebrating our unity in diversity. During the festival, we will showcase the unique traditions, arts, and music to help the local communities grow and develop and aimed at providing a platform for artists, musicians, performers, and cultural enthusiasts from Ghana, Africa and diaspora.

The four-day event is being organized by The Taste of Afrika, in collaboration with the Harlem Tourism Board, African Tourism Board, National Commission on Culture and Ghana Tourism Authority.
