Chairman Samba and other incumbents reelected, C.O.P is defeated.

The incumbent Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mohammed Bantima Samba, has been re-elected as Chairman of the party.

Chairman Samba at the end of the polls on Friday May 27, 2022, had 238 votes to beat his main contender Alhaji Inusah Dagomba Boy, who had managed to obtained 122 votes, the other contender Ibrahim Mahama obtained only 1 vote.

The other regional executives who also retained their positions include the Northern Regional Organizer of the party Alhaji Rashid C.O.P. He obtained 333 votes, his contender Mr. Benjamin Mensah obtained 30 votes.

Mohammed Alhassan ‘Ghana’, the incumbent Northern Regional Youth Organizer also maintained his position as Regional Youth Organizer. He garnered 199 votes to beat his close contender Salifu Mumin C.O.P who had 152 votes.

The incumbent Women Organizer Hajia Rahana Abdul Aziz also knockout her two main contenders. She polled 210 at the end of the elections.

Alhaji Iddrisu Sunday the incumbent First Vice Chairman also floors his three main contenders. They include Ibrahim Muazu, Sulemana Issahaku, and Mr Samson. Alhaji Sunday at the of the election’s garnered 255 to emerge victorious.

The incumbent Northern Regional Treasurer of the NPP, Yussif Toyibu popular known as AGENDA, also walloped his main contender Alhaji Baba Gushegu. AGENDA at the end of the contest had 205, while Alhaji Baba Gushegu obtained only 152 votes.

Meanwhile, the former Tolon Constituency Secretary of the NPP Dr Hudu Zakaria, at the end of the elections beat both the incumbent Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP Alhaji Alhassan Yakubu Sibdow and the Northern Regional Director of National Communication Authority Iddrisu Abubakari Aloma.

The newly elected Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP at the end of the contest polled 198 votes. The incumbent had 39 votes, while Abubakari Aloma managed to obtain 102 votes.

The incumbent Northern Regional NASARA Coordinator of NPP Alhaji Shamuna Illiasu, also lost to Abdul Fatawu Danjega. He garnered 198 votes, Abdul Rahaman Samari had 134 votes, while the incumbent managed to obtain only 36 votes.

Other positions which had a new entering include Second Vice Chairman position, and the Deputy Northern Regional Secretary position.

The new entering includes Abdulai Rahama Mahama, Second Vice Chairman, and Bediako Jaramaya Deputy Secretary of the NPP.

The newly elected Northern Regional Executives of the NPP have since been sworn in to office after the declaration of the results by the Electoral Commission.
