Residents of Changli appreciates Tamale Central MP, Ibrahim Murtala after handing over ultramodern clinic to constituents

Residents of Changli and its adjoin communities of the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region, have praised the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala for his efforts towards improving health care delivery in the area.

According to the residents, they are grateful to the MP for his attention and commitment towards ensuring quality health care within his constituency.

The residents made these praises by the Tamale Central legislator after he handed over an ultramodern clinic with essential medical equipment and supplies to the Tamale Health Directorate.

“We thank him for his intervention to provide us with this facility to save lives. We are happy, and we want to assure him that we are ready to take good care of the facility to ensure its purpose”, they assured.

The MP for Tamale Central Constituency, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala, has on Friday May 27, 2022, handed over ultramodern health facility to the people of Changli a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis.

The project was initiated by the MP with funding from the Qatar based Qatar Foundation as part of an initiative to ensure quality health care delivery within the area.

The facility has a laboratory, a male and female ward, a delivery room, quarantine centre, an outpatient department (OPD) among other.

Addressing the chiefs and people at the inaugural ceremony, the Tamale Central MP indicated the construction and commissioning of the health facility is in fulfillment of a pledge he made before winning the 2020 general elections. 

He said though the project was fully funded by the Qatar Foundation, but his outfit also spent over Gh¢100,000  on providing all the necessary equipment needed by the clinic to become operational. 

He said the provision of the health infrastructure is part of his determination to uplift the standard of quality health delivery within his constituency.

The Tamale Central law maker indicated that the execution and completion of the Changli Clinic Project was one of the activities he undertakes in the area of health within the constituency to bring health care delivery to the doorsteps of the people. 

He said plans are far advance for similar projects at Sakasaka, and Zogbeli. 

He revealed that, sod-cutting for the commencement  of construction on those projects would be done in the next few weeks. 

He assured that the facility will be operational in the next two weeks, following assurances from the Ghana Health Service and the Health Insurance Authority that nurses will be posted and NHIS accreditation given respectively.
