The leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Northern Regional Branch (SWAG-NR) have paid a courtesy call on the chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA), Alhaj Abu Hassan Mahamadu Rhyzo at his residence on Friday morning.
In a press statement, the executive committee of SWAG-NR indicated that the rationale for the visit was to congratulate Alhaj Rhyzo on a number of achievements he has gained in recent times.
It listed among others his affirmation as chairman of the NRFA for a second term in office among others.

LEADERSHIP OF SWAG-NR CALL ON ALHAJ ABU HASSAN RHYZO
Executive Committee members of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, Northern Region (SWAG-NR), have paid a courtesy call on the chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA), Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzo at his residence on Friday morning.
The essence of the short visit was to among other things congratulate the astute chairman for chalking some milestones in his field of endeavour in recent times.
Executive Committee members present during the visit were Abdulai Abdul Majeed (vice chairman), Mumuni Abdul Mumin (Treasurer), Ibrahim Adam (assistant secretary) and Sey Mubarick (Executive member and PRO).
On behalf of the chairman, Executive Committee, and the entire membership of SWAG-NR, vice chairman Abdul Majeed congratulated Alhaj Rhyzo for each of the following milestones under his belt:
●Getting a second tenure of office unopposed as NRFA chairman
●Getting elected into the GFA Executive Council in a keenly contested election
●Being promoted to the chairmanship of the Black Satellites Management Committee
●Winning gold for Ghana at the African Games in men’s football in his first attempt as chairman of the Satellites Management Committee.
The vice chairman added that these achievements need commendation as they have come the way of Alhaj Rhyzo by dint of hard work.
He also took the opportunity to wish Alhaj Rhyzo well in all his endeavours and pledged the support of the sports media in the North to enable him to realise his vision of football development in the region.
Alhaj Rhyzo, on his part, thanked the delegation for the visit and said, as stakeholders, he is happy that leadership of SWAG-NR have taken time out of their busy schedules to acknowledge the strides he is making in his chosen endeavour.
Alhaj Rhyzo also asked the delegation to convey his gratitude to the entire members of SWAG-NR and also encourage them to call on him as chairman anytime there is the need especially in patching up loose ends in the football ecosystem in Northern Region.
