The Strongmen Association of the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region, ahead of this year’s Christmas celebrations has provided assistance to two institutions in the Northern Region. The institutions are Nyohini children’s home and the Tamale Central Prisons.

At the Nyohini Children’s Home, the group donated assorted items including 30 packs of sachet water, a bag of maize, two bags of rice, 5 boxes of indomie, a gallon of cooking oil, beverage drinks, 46 packs of cooking food, detergents, 10 cartons of muncheen ginger biscuits, 5 boxes of happy delight drink, diapers, a carton of milk among others.

At the Tamale Central Prisons, the group handed over 1,120 packs of sachet water, 300 packs of cooking food, detergents, tissue among others.

Speaking to Diamondfmonline.com, Chairman of the Association Brian Sotaa indicated that the gesture formed part of their social responsibility.

“The group is not getting its resources from anywhere. It is just our own contributions. We also realized that we are working in a certain environment, so there is a need to also give something back to society as our social responsibility”, he said.

He maintained that the association will continue to maintain the gesture and expand it to the other less privileged institutions in the Northern Region.

On their part, the leadership of the two institutions, while commending the group, said they are overwhelmed by the love and compassion shown by the members of Strongmen. They appealed for support from benevolent organizations and individuals.
