SHEIKH ABDUL MUMIN DALHU BEGINS HIS GREENING PROJECT AT DIAMOND FM

The leader of Shia Muslim community in the Northern Region, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Dalhu through his yet to be launch project dubbed DALHU GREENING PROJECT have planted two mango seedlings, and other nonbearing fruit trees at the premises of Diamond FM.

This is part of activities taking by the spiritual leader who double as chief of Hausa Zongo of the Tamale Metropolis, to green both Tamale metropolis and Sagnarigu Municipal.

Sheikh Dalhu who took part of the climax of 2019 Diamond FM Damba Festival blood donation exercise, at the premises of the Diamond FM, saw the planting of two mango trees at an open space in front of the station.`

Speaking on Diamond FM, Sheikh Dalhu still maintained that climate change is a global concern which needs quick ideas and solutions to address the alarming challenges. He indicated his commitment to improve the quality of air in the city hence the need to plant more trees.

“This effort is to increase climate resilience towards achieving the sustainable development agenda”.

“I will soon launch my project dubbed DALHU GREENING PROJECT, to plant trees in this part of the country to mitigate the effects of urbanization which has caused a change in the city’s landscape with lots of buildings and not enough trees. Trees are being pulled down to make way for buildings and we must consciously replace it. Else, we may not have oxygen to breathe and make the city more resilient and sustainable,” he said.

The spiritual leader however called on residents in the region to partner with him to green the area.
