Information reaching Diamondfmonline.com, indicates two persons, a woman and his younger brother was reportedly shot dead at Jantong Daashei in the North East Gonja District of the Savanna Region following a renewed chieftaincy dispute in the area.
The deceased persons include Seidu Abdulai and Seidu Hawa, was killed during a sporadic shooting in the earlier hours of Wednesday 16th March, 2022.
Several people sustained gunshot wounds and have since been admitted at the Tamale Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Assemblyman of the area, Inusah Hamza Lansah in an interaction with Diamondfmonline.com indicated that the deceased persons have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
Diamonfmonline.com in an interview with Sumani Abdul Gafaru a son of the deceased woman, indicated that, several houses and other valuable properties including food items have been burnt to ashes.
Several community members most especially women and children have since fled the area for fear of their lives.
Jantong Daashei has been a conflict area for years ever since misunderstanding emerge between the two royals; Haruna Yahaya gate and the Zakaria Sakara gate, over who is rightful chief for the area.
Meanwhile, two persons have been arrested after Wednesday disturbances at Jantong Daashei according to the North East Gonja District chief executive Mohammed Musah.
He stated that more police personnel have been stationed at the community to protect lives and properties.
