The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency Honorable Kennedy Agyapong, has assisted a 60-year-old woman Fuseini Mariama- a stomach cancer patient and her family in the Tamale Metropolis.
The old lady according to the family was diagnosed of stomach cancer at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) which require a surgery with a cost of eight thousand-five hundred cedis (Gh¢ 8,500).
However, the lawmaker found the need to support the family when the daughter of the patient brought the condition of her mother to the attention of the MP during his recent visit in the Northern Region.
He presented a cash amount of eight thousand-five hundred cedis (Gh¢ 8,500) to the family to further her treatment.
On behalf of the outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, Alhaji Baba Gushegu, who is also the Northern Regional Campaign Coordinator for Kennedy Agyapong, presented the cash to the family on Tuesday December 20, 2022.
Speaking to diamondfmonline.com after presenting the money to the family, Alhaji Baba Gushegu stated, “we are not here for politics; we are here to support our mother for God’s sake. Honorable Kennedy Agyapong support does not discriminate. His support goes beyond political affiliation. This is the reason why we call him the people’s man.”, he noted.
Meanwhile, the husband of the patient Alhassan Fuseini, who is also Kalpohini Bulpel Naa could not hide his joy, and expressed his gratitude to the MP for the gesture. “I am so overwhelmed that I don’t know how to thank him. May God really bless him and protect him where ever he found himself. May he reward him all his wishes”, he prays.
Madam Merry Fuseini daughter of the patient on her part says, “now that we have gotten the medical bill, we will return our mother to the hospital for the surgery because she always cries and says she is dying. We thank Honorable Kennedy Agyapong for the support”, she said.
