Karaga: MP cuts sod for rehabilitation of feeder roads in his constituency

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Karaga Constituency in the Northern Region, Dr

Amin Adam Anta in collaboration with the Department of Feeder Roads, on Saturday July 23, 2022 cut sod for the commencement of rehabilitation of some selected feeder roads within his constituency.

The project includes 10 box of culverts, 43 pipe of culverts and 12.7 km of concrete drains and 34km of gravel surface at a contact sum of Gh¢ 41million, and expected to be completed within the next 12 months.

The beneficiary communities includes Karaga, Kupali, Kpasablo, Monkula, Zinyeli, Binduli, Sakulo, Kpaglo, Nyingali, and Zogu.

Dr Amin Anta, also the Deputy Minister of energy in his speech at a ceremony to break the ground for commencement of work, said aside the rehabilitation project, other roads would also be constructed to ensure free movement in the area.

He reiterated his commitment towards ensuring a total development to the people of the Karaga constituency and assured them of doing his best for them to get their share of the national cake.

As a result, his outfit is working closely with government and other relevant authorities to ensure all poor roads within Karaga district will be worked on to enhance transportation and economic activities in the district.

He said some communities within the district lacks accessibility, and will be very soon open up by the creation of access roads which will enable free movement.

According to him, government through his efforts has approve the construction of a number of major roads including Tong to Yensabga, Sadugu to Namborigu road all in the Karaga district.

“Now, I am done with the electrification and water projects, I am now focusing on the road network. This is the face of project. We intend to upgrade a number of roads within this constituency”, he stated.

“We thank our President Nana Akufo-Addo for this support that will not only improve transportation in the area but will also support agricultural productivity”, he added.

The Deputy Minister of Energy while reiterating his commitment to serving the people of Karaga constituency who gave him the mandate to serve them as MP, also assured the constituents his readiness to ensure Karaga district attained a 100% electricity coverage in the Northern Region.

He therefore called for the support of the constituents as he is determined to lobby more development for the people of Karaga.

On his part, the Operations Manager at the Department of Feeder Roads Stephen Tettey – Adade, said the project would be completed even before the time frame given, and therefore appealed to the chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities to give the contractor the maximum support to enable him carry out decent and quality work.

Meanwhile, the chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities who could not hide their happiness thanked the MP for his efforts towards bringing development to their door step and assured him their readiness to support the contractor to complete the project.
