Honorable Alan Kyeremanteng to leads MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE in Ghana, as he officially resigns from NPP

Honorable Alan Kyeremateng, has officially reigned from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) set to run as an independent presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

“I wish to use this platform to announce that I am honourably resigning with immediate effect from the New Patriotic Party to contest for the high office of the President of the Republic of Ghana in the 2024 General Elections, as an Independent Presidential Candidate”.

The former trade and industry minister made this known at a press conference held in Accra on Monday September 25, 2023 saying, “it is abundantly clear to me, that my services and contributions to the party are not appreciated, and that my continuous stay in the party will create further tension and division, which is an exact replay of circumstances that led to my decision to resign from the party in 2008.

He said he wanted to become president of Ghana on the ticket of NPP, but the party has been hijacked by a selected group of party leaders and elders, government appointees, and unscrupulous apparatchiks.

“The NPP as it exists now has a little resemblance to the party that I joined in 1992. The party has been hijacked by selected group of party leaders and elders, government appointees behind the cutting power brokers and some unscrupulous party apparatus”.

Mr Kyerematen, a seasoned politician, would now lead MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE in Ghana with the brand logo of monarch Butterfly which symbolizes change and transformation, hope and positivity.

This is the second time Mr Kyerematen is breaking away from the NPP. In 2008 he resigned from the party after losing the presidential primaries to Nana Addo Dankwa Akofo Addo in 2007.
