GJA extends condolences to Woyongo Family and Diamond FM

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in the Northern Region has extended its deepest condolences to the Woyongo Family and the Management and staff of Diamond FM on the passing of Hon. Mark Woyongo, the station’s founder.

A statement issued by the Northern Regional Chairman of the GJA, Yakubu Abdul-Majeed mentioned the visionary initiative of the late Mark Woyongo in establishing the first private commercial radio in Northern Ghana which has left an indelible mark on information dissemination and socio-economic development in the region.

The GJA statement also touched on how through Diamond FM’s establishment has played a pivotal role in shaping public discourse and contributing significantly to the development of the area.

“In these moments of grief, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with the Woyongo family, the entire Diamond FM team and everyone affected by this loss, ” the statement read in part.

The GJA stands in solidarity with you, offering our support and comfort during this challenging time. May the memories of Hon. Woyongo’s impactful legacy brings solace, and may you find strength in the unity of the journalism community”, the Northern GJA statement added.
