The first son of the late Mion Lana Mahamadu Abdulai III, has been enskinned as reagent of Mion traditional area.
This became necessary following the sadden demise of the late chief of Mion traditional area on Wednesday August 17, 2022.
His first son Naa Alhassan Abdulai has since been enskinned as reagent of Mion.
This was done in line with the customs and traditions of the Dagbon Traditional area.
The spectacular traditional event was characterized by a display of the rich culture and customs of the Dagbon people in Mion.
Immaculately dressed in their colorful smocks of varied designs and sizes, the ecstatic mourners danced to the melodious beats of the ‘gong, gong’ and ‘goonje’ strings, amid the firing of muskets.
The Reagent, along with the eldest daughter of the late chief- ‘Pakpang’, and other siblings were available and escorted by some of the elders of the traditional area.
A willing and milling crowd of family, friends and other sympathizers graced the event.
Among the many dignitaries who witnessed the enskinment process include the Northern Regional Minister Alhaji Alhassan Shani Sayibu, led the delegation including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Savelugu Municipality Madam Barikisu, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Mion, the Northern Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives, and other government functionaries.
