Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi Constituency Alhaji Farouck Aliu Mahama, as part of his educational strategy has sponsored a mock examination for final year Junior High School (JHS) candidates in his constituency.
The Yendi lawmaker has paid the full cost of the Super Mock Examination for all 2,382 candidates in the Yendi Municipality.
The initiative covers all candidates across the 36 Public and 5 Private Junior High Schools within the Yendi Municipality.
The gesture form part of the MP’s quest to improve academic performance of schools in his constituency. It is also aimed at easing burden on parents in the area.
The MP in his statement however, admonish the head-teachers across all the 41 Junior High Schools in the Municipality, to take keen interest in preparation of all the candidates to enable them come out with flying colors.
He said this would ensure the students get admitted to the various Senior High Schools of their choice, which would then propel them to achieve their future aspirations.
Meanwhile, the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools in the Yendi Municipality, the Municipal Examination Committee and the entire 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates, who could not hide their happiness after receiving the support, thanked the MP for the kind gesture.
The head teachers jointly in a statement said, “we are exceedingly grateful for your continuous support”.
“The essence of this writing is to acknowledge your support and indeed register our appreciation for your valuable contribution and commitment in sponsoring the conduct of Mock examination for the 2022 BECE candidates in Yendi constituency”, the statement added.
“The entire 2022 BECE Candidates, Yendi Municipal Examination Committee, Conference of Heads of Basic Schools as well as subject masters of the various Junior High Schools in Yendi Constituency appreciate your monumental support and shall forever be grateful to you,” they further added.
