BISCO marked 2nd Home Coming in Tamale

The Business Senior High School (BISCO), has marked its 2nd homecoming dubbed ‘BOSA Homecoming’, with a call on students to maintain the high academic standards and discipline set by their predecessors.

Some of the old students are CEO of MIMA construction limited Alhaji Musah Mumuni, who happened to be the first student and first School Prefect of BISCO, Chief of Kpeni Naa Mohammed Alhassen, Director General of Ghana Harbors Authority Micheal Logje Acharawie, Alhaji Iddrisu Nashiru Chief Executive Officer for Roller Life Insurance Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Bashiru Head of Engineering Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, Hajia Fati Forgo Kpandai District Officer of Finance, Issahaku Abdul Latif Northern Regional Director of NHIA.

The school also produced important personalities such as Chief Mohammed Botig Naa Former Chief Director of Ministry of Roads and Highways, Colonel Issahaku Mahama Former Commander of Army Combating Training School, Alhaji Muniru Muktar Head of Customer Service Ghana Commercial Bank, former Member of Parliament for Walewale Constituency Hon Alidu Iddrisu Zakali, Mohammed Ibn Abdallah Managing Director of Makemba Broadcasting Cooperation (DIAMOND FM) among others.

The Kpandai District Finance Officer, Hajia Fati Forgo said past students made distinctions through hard work and determination amidst difficult conditions.

“It has been a long journey I left here some 33 years ago today. I am standing before you as District Finance Officer. It’s been through hard work, perseverance and courage”, she said.

She encourage the students most especially the female students to take their education serious and desist from limiting themselves to some selecting courses. “My advice to the young ladies here, pls take your books seriously. Do not limit yourself thinking that as a woman I can’t do A, B and C. Now, what men can do I think women can do it even more better. So with determination, perseverance I believe, you can rise to the top just like other women you see at the top level”, she advised.

The National President of BOSA, Alhaji Mohammed Nurudeen, in an interview with diamondfmonline.com after the event said, BOSA facilitated a number of developmental projects to the school. It includes construction of sick bay and provision of some infrastructure to enable the school face off the green and yellow track system within the school.

“We have done a lot for the school. Currently, we have just finished the construction of a sick bay for the school. Through BOSA, the school was able to face out green and yellow track system. Because we realized that it was not helping, and so we provided some infrastructure to enable the school face out this green and yellow track system within the school”, he said.

Alhaji Mohammed Nurudeen, while highlighting their achievement, appealed to the government and other BOSA members most especially the CEO of MAWUMs Construction Firm to help fix the road network within the school.

The Headmistress of the School, Mrs Susana Fati Braimah, who mentioned some of the achievements chalked by the school, also enumerated some of the challenges facing the school as inadequate of space at the girl’s dormitory, dilapidated dinning and assembly halls, unfurnished staff common room, unfurnished school library, inadequate photo copier machines, among others.

She commended BOSA, for their contribution to the school. “I appreciate the contribution of BOSA to the school. God richly bless you for the sick bay”, she stated.
