50-year-old man found dead in container in Tamale

A man believed to be in his 50s has been found dead in an uncompleted container in front of the Northern Regional Agric stores of the Sagnarigu Municipality on Thursday  December 5, 2019.

The body was seen lying inside the container with foamed oozing from the month.

The deceased, who is believed to be aged 50, is suspected to be a mad man who normally walks around the vicinity.

Although the cause of his death is not officially known, meanwhile residents and staffs of Regional Agric stores who vacate the premises because of unbearable foul smell emanating from the container

According to an eyewitness, traders and staff of the Regional Agric Stores, told Diamondfmonline.com that the foul smell emanating from the container led them to discover the lifeless body of the man suspected to be a mad man when they came for work on Thursday.

The eyewitness also said they suspected the deceased might have passed away three days since his body begins to decompose on Thursday.

The Assembly member for Nyanshagu electoral area, SAYIBU ABUKARI who confirmed the deceased as mad man, said the body has since been buried through the order by the police. “The police has asked us to barry him, since  the body started decomposing. I suspect he has spent several days in this container”, he narrated.

SAYIBU ABUKARI, speaking to Diamondfmonline.com, he however urged resident in the Tamale metropolis and the region at large, to inculcate a habit of monitoring their relatives who are mentally challenged, to address the difficulties they go  through in the region.
