Tolon: Chiefs of Jagaroyili and Nag’biligu commends MP for improving telecommunication networks in the area.

The chiefs and community members of Jagaroyili and Nagbiligu of the Tolon District in the Northern Region have commended the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area Alhaji Iddrisu Habib for providing access to telephone networks in the area.

According to them, the commissioning of a universal telecommunication control towers in the area will go a long way to improve mobile telecommunication networks within their communities.

Some of the community members told diamondfmonline.com that the project has come at the right time since they had suffered for decades with poor mobile network in the area. “We never enjoyed holding mobile phones because of bad network”, they said.

Alhassan Abdulai, a resident at Jagaro yili narrating his experience said, “sometimes for a whole week, we cannot make or receive calls due to the poor network”.

He said often such development affects his trading business because “my clients come from Tamale to buy my farm produce on commercial basis to also sell at the various markets. And, because of the bad network sometimes when they are trying to call me for supplies, it is a problem”.

“So, we are happy that the MP and his partners commissioned this project, it will enable us to reach out to our clients and our relatives. We are indebted to him for what he has been doing for us”, he indicated.

The Deputy Majority Chief Whip Alhaji Habib Iddrisu in collaboration with the Minister of Communications and Digitization, Madam Ursula Owusu; and the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Saibu, on Saturday 29, 2023, handed over a number of infrastructure projects to beneficiary communities in his constituency.

The projects include an ultra-modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Training Centre and universal telecommunication control tower at Nagbiligu and Jagaruyili.

In his short remarks at the commissioning of the ITC, the Tolon lawmaker on behalf of the chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Communications and Digitization and Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFFEC), for ensuring the execution and completion of the project.

Mr. Habib Iddrisu while thanking the communication minister also appealed to the community members to take proper care of the facilities. He implored them to be watch dogs and conduct periodic maintenance as and when necessary, in order to sustain the Centre for the younger generations.
