Tampuli donates 105K to Kpatinga community

The deputy minister for transport in charge of Aviation Alhaji Hassan Tampuli, has presented a sum of GH¢105,000 to the Kpatinga community, a farming community within the Gushegu municipality of the Northern region.

The donation is to aid the community in the expansion of the Kpatinga Health Center, renovation of the Maazijung JHS and also the Kpatinga E/A Primary School.

The deputy minister who doubles as Member of Parliament for Gushegu constituency, made the presentation during this year’s National Farmers Day Celebration at Kpatinga in the Gushegu Municipality.

The theme, for this year’s National farmers Day was “Planting for Food and Jobs: Consolidating the Food System of the Nation”.

Whiles commending the farmers for their efforts towards feeding the nation, the Gushegu law maker also reiterated his commitment towards the modernization and commercialization of farming in the area.

He said measures has been put in place to establish a modern Agricultural Mechanization Center in the constituency to make available modern farming technics in the area.

He added that his outfit together with other stakeholders in the area has since secured the site for the project after five farm tracks were procured before the start of this year’s farming season.

The MP in his remarks also presented 5 motorbikes and 20 bicycles to the Gushegu Municipal Agric directorate to be given to the awardees in the area.

Meanwhile Alhaj Adam, the project committee chairman, who received the money on behalf of other committees expressed their gratitude and thanked the MP for gesture.

Abass Iddrisu who was adjudged the Gushegu Municipal best farmer went home with, a Tricycle, a pair of Wellington Boots, a Radio Set, two pieces of Cutlasses, a piece of cloth and a certificate.
