Tamale Central: MP presents Maths Sets to 1,719 candidates ahead of BECE

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central constituency, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala, has on Saturday October 15, 2022, presented mathematical sets to all 1,719 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) candidates who took part in the extra classes he organized for the students within the constituency.

The MP also gave an undisclosed amount of cash to each student and it was meant to aid the student’s transportation and lunch during their five days examination period.

According to the MP, this is part of the activities he had initiated last year to improve the performance of BECE candidates within the Tamale Central constituency.

It would be recalled that, the MP, some five months ago continue his free extra classes policy for all BECE candidates preparing for this year’s exams.

Addressing the candidates at a short ceremony to disburse the items, the Tamale Central legislator however, admonished the candidate to remain confident and approach the upcoming BECE with determination to enable them come out with flying colors.

He said, this would ensure they get admitted to the various Secondary Schools of their choice, which would then propel them to achieve their future aspirations.

He reminded the students that, the success of their examination is hinged on their input and conduct during the examination, therefore, he urged them to conduct themselves well so they could score higher marks. He also advice the candidates to double out their studies and abstained from the use of social media as it has a tendency of their studies.

“The teachers have done their part. We have also done our part. The responsibility is now left on you to do your part. I have a conviction that, if you study hard, you can still past if only you do away with social media and never try to engage any form of examination malpractices, during your five days exams period”, he adviced.

The MP whiles urging the students to desist from any form of exams malpractices, also expressed his commitment towards offering sponsorship package to medical students within his constituency.

“Last year, we pay ten medical students school fees fully. And this year we are paying for about twenty students, and I will continue to pay the fees as long as I still remain the MP for Tamale Central “, he pledges.

Meanwhile, some of the beneficiary candidates speaking to Diamondfmonline.com after receiving the items thanked the MP for coming to their aid.

“We thank the MP for organizing the extra classes and also supporting us with mathematical sets for our exams. Because of the extra classes we were able to cover all the topics, and so we thank him for this gesture”.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination is scheduled to commence on Monday 17th October 2022, across the country.

A total number of 43,592 from the three of regions of the North, is expecting to take part in this year’s BECE exams.
