Tamale Central: MP Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala advise students to be discipline ahead of the BECE

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central Constituency, Honorable Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala, has advised candidates sitting this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) in his constituency to be discipline before, during and after the exams.

“Please do not enter in to the exam hall with any foreign material. Please, if you take any foreign material in to the exam hall and you are caught, your paper will be cancelled, and all the suffering, the sleepless night will come to nothing. Do not ask anyone to give you an answer or tell you an answer to any question. If you study hard you don’t need anybody to teach you in the exam hall. I beg you. I want all of you to go in there, write and make us very happy”, he advised.

He also encouraged the students not to engage themselves in distractive activities during their examination period.

The MP gave the advice when he did a symbolic presentation of mathematical sets and pens to over two thousand (2,000) BECE candidates who took part in the extra classes he organized for the students in his constituency.

The MP also gave an undisclosed amount of cash to each student, and it was meant to aid the student’s transportation and lunch during their five days examination period.

This is part of the activities he had initiated for the past three years to improve the performance of BECE candidates within the Tamale Central constituency.

The MP in his remarks reminded the candidates that the only way to make it from Junior High School (JHS) to the Senior High School (SHS) successfully was to pass the up-coming exams with flying colours.

He thanked the teachers and all who had prepared the students for the exams.

In his short remarks, the Tamale Metropolitan Education Director, Mr. Nelson Naakinib Konlan, while thanking the MP for the gesture, also indicated that a total of 6,036 will be participating in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He thus cautioned the students to desist from engaging in any exam malpractices.

Meanwhile, some of the beneficiary candidates speaking to Diamondfmonline.com after receiving the items thanked the MP for coming to their aid.
