An aspiring parliamentary candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sagnarigu constituency Madam Felicia Tetteh, has assured delegates of the party and people of Sagnarigu that infrastructure development and economic growth will be visible in the area if she is given the nod to become the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
According to her, the Sagnarigu constituency is lacking behind in terms of development because, “we haven’t had good MPs. My main objective will be to lobby for development for this constituency when giving the mandate.”
“You have been voting for one particular party for decades, and they have nothing to offer you. The time now is for development. Give me the opportunity to develop our beloved constituency because I am ready to work”, she calls.
She said empowering the constituents most especially women and the youth, will be her main priority. “My outfit has been supporting the people of Sagnarigu, and I will continue to do it when given the mandate”, she reiterated.
“We are fully prepared and poised to succeed in the constituency. We are massing up and mobilizing the grassroots, and anything that is needed to ensure that we snatch the seat from the National Democratic Congress come 2024”, she stated.
Madam Felicia Tetteh made these remarks after presenting a banker’s draft and her nomination forms to the Sagnarigu Constituency Executives at the constituency office of the NPP at Shishegu on Friday to satisfy requirements to contest in the parliamentary primaries of the party.
This will be the second term Madam Felicia Tetteh is contesting to lead the party in the Sagnarigu constituency. In 2020, she represented the NPP in the constituency but lost to the current MP Alhaji A.B.A FUSEINI.
The NPP has scheduled Saturday, September 23, 2023, to Saturday, December 2, 2023, to organize Parliamentary Primaries in the constituencies where the party has no representation.
Several personalities including the Northern Regional Minister Alhaji Shani Alhassan Saibu, the Sagnarigu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed, Mr. Francis Tetteh the spouse of Madam Felicia, some party executives both regional and various constituencies including hundreds of NPP supporters in the Sagnarigu constituency, were at the party offices to witness the filing of Madam Felicia Tetteh, who is likely to go unopposed.
