Tamale Central MP commissions 3 mechanized boreholes for constituency

The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central constituency, Mohammed Ibrahim Murtala has commissioned three mechanized boreholes for three communities in his constituency.

The project, an initiative of the Member of Parliament, was fully funded by Qatar Charity Organization.

Portable water for domestic purposes has been a major challenge for some communities in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region.

His commissioning is to bring relief to his constituents and also to fulfill his campaign promise.

During the 2020 electioneering campaign, the MP promised to construct mechanized boreholes across his constituency. The MP has so far constructed and commissioned 38 mechanized boreholes.

Speaking to the media after the commissioning of the Choggu West, Sabonjida, and Tishigu project, the MP said it is his desire to ensure proper living standards for his constituents.

He thus promised to complete the remaining ones before this year general elections.

On their part, the residents of the beneficiary communities, commended the MP for his lobbying skills towards providing them with portable drinking water.

According to the residents, the efforts by the MP in solving the water challenges without central government’s intervention was an indication that they made a good choice. “We thank you for addressing our biggest concern”.
