Police smoke out spiritualist from her Yeji hideout in connection with Akua Denteh’s lynching

The Police in the Savanna Region have arrested 40-year Madam Sherina Mohammed, the alleged spiritualist who accused 90-year-old, Akua Denteh of witchcraft subsequently leading to her lynching at Kafaba near Salaga.

Sherina Mohammed, known also as Alhajia was smoked out from her hideout in Yeji in the Pru District on Monday evening. Six other suspects including a Latifa Bumaye, captured in a viral video participating in an alleged exorcising which resulted in Akua Denteh’s death, have all been remanded in police custody and would reappear in court.

On Thursday, July 23, 90 year-old, Akua Mariama Denteh, was lynched at Kafaba by some residents and a spiritualist, who accused her of witchcraft.

The deceased was accused of being behind strange happenings in the community including the underdevelopment, youth joblessness which has limited the progress of Kafaba.

Meanwhile, the family of Akua Denteh has announced that her final funeral rites will come off on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
