N/R: Yaa Naa inspects ongoing construction of fence wall project of the Yendi cemetery

Overlord of Dagbon, Ndan Yaa-Naa Abukari II, has on Saturday 19th February, 2022, inspected the ongoing construction of fence wall project of the Yendi cemetery.

The King after inspecting the ongoing work also participated the activities as he was captured on camera carried blocks at the project site of the ongoing fence wall construction.

Ndan Yaa Naa after inspecting and carried blocks at the project site also presented undisclosed amount of money and several bags of cement towards the projects.

The King in an interaction with the works and volunteers however, commended the residents within the Yendi Municipality and other benevolent individuals for supporting and participating in the activities of the project.

The King while commending the people also indicated that, the grave yard is the resting place for every living soul, hence the support.

Speaking on behalf of the King, Public Relations Officer of the Gbewaa Palace, Yakubu Musah, stated that, the King before visiting the project site, allocated 45 acres of land for the expansion of the Yendi cemetery.

“He is still pledging to support because the work is ongoing. It hasn’t been executed yet, and so he’s still planning to see how best he can support”, he revealed.

“His Royal Highness is liasing with Dagban Forum Yendi chapter and other chiefs within the Dagbon traditional Council to allocate additional land for new cemetery for the area. Because Yendi is growing faster and so we need to get additional cemetery”, he said.

The construction of fence wall at the Yendi cemetery was initiated by Dagbon Forum Yendi chapter, which was supported by many individuals including the member of parliament for Yendi constituency Alhaji Faruck Aliu Mahama, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Dasuma Radio and former NPP parliamentary aspirant for Yendi, Alhaji Baba Osman Daney among others donated towards the construction of the fence wall at the Yendi cemetery.
