MP for Tamale Central cut sod for Changli, Dohinaayili and Gumbihini Inner roads project to commence

The inner roads of Changli, Gumbihini and Dohinaayili community of the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region are set to receive a major facelift as Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala and contractor inspected the beneficiary communities for work to commence. 

The construction will be done by the TAKARA BIGGIZA construction firm beginning on Saturday January 20, 2024. The project is an initiative by the MP, fully funded by the Government of Ghana. 

This is the first time the beneficiary communities such as Changli will get a proper inner roads within the community to ensure free movement of motorists. 

In his remarks, Honorable Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala said the project marked a significant milestone for the people of the beneficiary communities adding, the road project is in fulfillment of a pledge he made to the people during the 2020 general elections. 

“There are several communities in Tamale Central whose roads are absolutely deplorable. You can see where we are standing on. We have secured a project and the first phase of the project is what we are executing. It include Dohinaayili roads, Changli, and Gumbihini roads, and the second phase will continue on other major roads including some roads at Warizhehi, Tishigu, Lamakara,  parts of Gumbihini again, and some part around Agric,  and I am very convince that looking at the capacity of the contractor we are using, we will be able to complete the work  in no time. So that is what we are expecting, and we are doing these for everybody”, he said.  

Comrade Mutala indicated that the construction of the inner and other major roads within his constituency would ensure a free movement of commuters and reduce traffic on the dual carriageway. 

He thus appealed to the chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities to give the contractor the maximum support to enable him carry out decent and quality work.

The Tamale Central lawmaker also highlighted some developmental projects he has initiated and executed, including construction of mechanized boreholes, construction of health facilities, and provision of financial support to needy students.

On their part, residents of the beneficiary communities have commended the MP for initiating the construction of the roads as it had a major effect on their movement. 

Meanwhile, the contractor TAKARA BIGGIZA CONSTRUCTION FIRM has since moved into site to begin work.
