Halaqatu Ali Ibn Abii Taalib Qur’an Memorization Center at the Masjidul Bayaan under Nuriyya Islamic Institute in the Tamale Metropolis, has over the weekend passed out 7 students at its first graduation ceremony.
The graduates, all males received certificates, after going through several months in memorizing a full Quran at the Centre.
Chairman for the graduation ceremony, Alhaji Abdul Fatawu Ibrahim, a retired lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS) on his closing remarks, emphasized the need for parents and guardians to invest in their children’s Arabic education.
He urged them to prioritize Arabic education as the best means to save them and their children in the hereafter.
Alhaji Abdul Fatawu eulogized the founder of the Nuriyya Islamic Institute Sheikh IBRAHIM BASHA, for his forethought and exemplary leadership.
He also commend the Arabic Instructors at Halaqatu Ali Ibn Abii Quran Memorization Centre for their continue efforts towards impacting the knowledge of Islam among the younger generations within the Northern Region.
Other speakers including Sheikh Sulemana Takuba a renowned Islamic scholar within the Tamale Metropolis also echoed the need for graduates to make what they have acquired more relevant to societal needs.
However, Sheikh Mujeeb, a tutor at the Centre while touching on the Nuriyya Institute’s role in promoting Islamic knowledge within Northern Region, also indicated that, “this year our Sheikh Bayan, saw it that, we should do it as an occasion to draw the attention of the general public to know what has been going on at the Masjidul Bayan. It is also aimed at encouraging the younger ones to emulate and take their Qur’anic studies serious.
The Northern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdul Salam Ahmed, Representative of N’yab Kumbungu Naa, Representative of N’yab Savelugu chief (Yoo Naa), Old Students of Nuriyya Islamic Institute among other dignitaries graced the occasion.
There were Quranic recitals.
