Kumbungu MP gives over 40k support to needy students.

Member of Parliament for Kumbungu constituency in the Northern Region, Dr Hamza Adam has supported 115 needy but brilliant students in his constituency.

The beneficiary students were drawn from across the constituency.

A total of Forty Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty Ghana cedis (GH 40, 250 cedis) was disbursed to the students from the MPs common fund.

Dr Hamza Adam in his speech at a short ceremony said the initiative forms part of his efforts to enhance education in the area.

He underscored the importance of education and encouraged the beneficiary students to take their studies seriously and urged them to return to serve the constituency after completion of their programs.

We now live in a competitive world and so you need to take your studies seriously to enable you come out with better certificates, this is the only way you can place yourself at the job market in the country”, he added.

In an interview with Diamond News, the Kumbungu legislature indicated that his priority as an MP is to empower the youth through education indicating that education is the key to human development, and also to ensure development in the Kumbungu constituency, hence the decision to support the needy students.

We all know how important education is, it is key to the growth of our communities and the district, it has become necessary for me as a legislator in this constituency to support these students”.

Dr Hamza further revealed his readiness to support students who are willing to further their education at the highest level.

He reiterated his commitment towards establishing an Educational Fund to support the needy but brilliant students in the constituency.

Very soon I will come out with an educational fund and the fund will target all students in the Kumbungu constituency, especially brilliant but needy Student” he mentioned.

The beneficiary students, who could not hide their happiness after receiving the support thanked the MP for the gesture.
