Some residents of Kpane in the Sagnarigu district are threatening to block the only road linking the community to other parts of the district due the assembly’s inability to fix the central road in the community.
Residents say the poor road network had led to several motor accidents in the past coupled with the lack of social amenities that is making life unbearable in the community.
Some of the residents who spoke to Diamond news in an interview said, they cannot no longer access health care from Sagnarigu since the road had cut them off from the district.
The road linking Kpane, Kukou, Kasalgu and several other farming communities to the Sagnarigu district and Tamale is currently a death trip bedeviled with potholes.
Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive, Iddrisu Mariam, has assured that, the assembly through the feeder roads department has awarded a contract for the contraction of the road.
She however lamented that work on the road was slow but pleaded with the residents to remain calm whiles the assembly follow the necessary procedures to fix the road.
