Kahinfehiyili connected to national grid

The Chiefs and people of Kahinfehiyili a farming community in the Tolon District of the Northern Region have expressed gratitude to the member of parliament for the area, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu for leading efforts to connect the community to the national grid.

According to them, connecting Kahinfehiyili to the national grid will not only improve visibility at night, but will also go a long way to enhance socio-economic activities in the community.

“We are happy that we now have light so we can preserve our foodstuff and boost our economic activities,” a resident said.

Some school Children in the community also expressed their happiness saying “now we can study at night.”

Osman Abu a community member, told diamondfmonline.com that, connecting Kahinfehiyili onto the national grid is a big relief to the people in the community. According to him, the community has been sleeping in darkness over the past years.

“We can also now boost that we are part Ghana, and part of the Tolon District, now our women will suffer no more, they use to travel several miles for grading mail”, he indicated.

He has therefore on behalf of the chiefs of the community commended the Tolon legislature who doubles as the deputy majority chief whip in Parliament for coming to their aid by connecting Kahinfehiyili onto the national grid.

Meanwhile the Tolon MP, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu while speaking at a short ceremony to connect Kahinfehiyili onto the national grid said the development was to help improve the standard of living of people in the area.

He noted that the development of every community depended on electricity, good roads, potable drinking water, education and health hence his priority as an MP of the area is to ensure the total development of the constituency.

He expressed the hope that the electrification project would better the lives of the people within the area.

Alhaji Habib said it would also pave way for many developmental projects to be established alongside hopes of improving academic performance and socio-economic activities among the community.

The NPP lawmaker whiles thanking the chiefs and people of Kahinfehiyili for voting for him and president Nana Akufo Addo, also reiterated his commitment towards changing the face of the Tolon Constituency.
