Surgeries allegedly suspended at Tamale Central Hospital over shortage of consumables

Specialist Surgeon at the Tamale Central Hospital has allegedly suspended all surgeries at the facility starting from Thursday 23, December, 2021.

A memo intercepted by www.diamondfmonline.com allegedly written by the Specialist Surgeon to the Medical Superintendent of the hospital said the action was necessitated by the shortage of essential supplies and water in the hospital.

It added that “Patients visiting the hospital have over the last three weeks been forced to buy almost all consumables for surgeries, and this has led to a lot of negative discussion on the media about the latest development at the Hospital”.

The surgeons indicated that they will only resume work when supplies is provided, “Surgeries will resume as soon as supplies are provided

“We appreciate management continues efforts at ensuring smooth running of the facility”
