Campaign for Female Education (Camfed) Ghana, has held its 2019 graduation and induction ceremony for 5,747 young women senior high school (SHS) levers in the Tamale metropolis.

This year’s graduation and induction ceremony are being held at the district levels across the regions between June 14 and 15th, under the theme: “TIME TO CELEBRATE TIME TO LOOK INTO THE FEATURE.”

The ceremony was also aimed at celebrating the successful completion of SHS levers by the 2019 Camfed bursary girls and also to formerly induct the school levers into the CAMA network.

The beneficiary students, received various support forms including: school fees, living expenses, books, daily stipends, transportation, mentoring and counseling among others, under Camfed’s ‘The MasterCard Foundation Scholars and Bursary Programmes’

‘The MasterCard Foundation Scholars’ vision is to educate and develop bright but economically marginalised young girls who would after completing their education invest their experience in their communities.

Information provided to media by the management of CAMFED indicated that the aimed of district level celebrations is to create a huge presence of CAMA and its activities in the district and also forge a stronger bond between old CAMA members and the inductees.

Speaking at the ceremony, Miss Ruhia Mohammed Mustapha, a beneficiary of CAMFED who was also guest speaker for the occasion, said CAMA and Camfed Ghana creates an opportunity for young women to learn more on educational and career opportunities in Ghana.

Miss Ruhia therefore urged the inductees to aim high by pursing higher education to fulfilling their dreams and helping in the development of their communities and the country at large.

Camfed Ghana’s visions remains; a world in which every child would be educated, protected, respected, valued and grow to turn the tide of poverty.
