About 300 students from the Karaga constituency who gained admission or schooling at the various tertiary institutions across the country have received financial support from the Member of Parliament of the area Honorable Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam Anta.

The gesture was drawn from the Anta Educational Fund (AEF), a scholarship fund established four years ago., with the aim of eradicating the bottlenecks that have prevented many young people in the Karaga District from pursuing a higher education.

This is the fourth time, the Karaga lawmaker who is also Minister of State at the Finance Ministry is making such intervention to support his constituents to attain a higher education. So far 500 students have benefited from the fund since its inception.

In his remarks at a short ceremony, Dr. Amin narrated that “I am very passionate about the agenda of educational capacity building because I have been a beneficiary of student loans and will forever be cognizant of the relief it brought to my parents and I, during the trying times of my childhood”.

“It is my hope that through the opportunities from the AEF, the burden of not being able to fund academic logistics would be lifted off deserving students”, he added.

Dr. Amin while urging the beneficiary students to take their education seriously, also thanked all the dignitaries present at the occasion for their support and assured the audience of his unflinching support to the people.

Some of the beneficiary students who could not hide their happiness thanked the MP and pledged to use the monies for the intended purpose.
