In line with her annual Ramadanrituals, aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Yendi Constituency, Hajia Abiba Shani Mahama has donated food and assorted items to the people of Yendi constituency
The donation is in her bid to support needy Muslims in the area to undergoing spiritual cleansing during the period, considered as one of the pillars of Islamic calendar
The items presented include tin of milk, sugar, date palms, Milo, oats packs, of Lipton tea and hand sanitisers.
The items is expected to be share to every member in the constituency include non-Muslim in the area
Religious and opinion leaders, Party delegates, youth groups, executives and council of elders of the New Patriotic Party as well as women groups are also expected to benefit from the gesture of the NPP aspiring candidate.
This year Ramadan comes at a time where the global is under immense weight of the conronavirus pandemic and the compounding economic misery it is wrecking
Hajia Abibata, daughter of the late former MP, said Muslim should endeavor to ceased this holy Month period to pray to the almighty to wipe out the deadly COVID -19 on earth,
She said the aimed of supporting the people of Yendi constituency is necessary because many are unable to provide themselves with this items due to the effect of the deadly COVID-19 in the country.
Over the years she supports her Muslim brother and sisters in the area during the period of Ramadan and would continue to assist in order to maintain the good relationship and wishes Muslim across the Region a fruitful fasting period.
Hajia Abibata, is among of the three candidate seeking to lead NPP in the Yendi Constituency come December 7th general election.
The deputy MASLOC CEO, before declaring her parliamentary ambition, has been championing growth and economic empowerment for the people of Yendi.
She has facilitated jobs for more than a thousand youth, ensuring their enlistment into various security agencies and relevant government bodies including the GRA, GNFS, GIS, GPS, the prison service, local government service and the government school feeding program.
Hajia Abibata also lobbied for about hundred and forty scholarship slots for the constituency’s brilliant-but-needy students from the GNPC and the state scholarship secretariat
