3rd edition of 2019 DIAMOND DAMBA FESTIVAL ends successfully

The third edition of the Diamond FM 2019 DAMBA FESTIVAL Blood donation, the health screening and registration of National Health Insurance Scheme Cards to vulnerable widows and orphans has ended successfully on Monday at the premises of Diamond FM in Tamale.

The annual exercise attracted listeners from all walks of life and supporters of the various political parties in the region.

Personalities including Northern Regional chairman for the NPP, Mohammed Bantima Samba, Regional Director of National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mohammed Abdul Latif, former Regional Youth Organizer NDC, Adam Mohammed Amin Abio, Regional Communication Director of NDC Mohammed Amin, Savanna Regional Communication Director of NPP Mohammed Issah, deputy National communications director of NPP Prof Haruna, Northern Regional Secretary of CPP Nuhu Jingli, among others showed up.

The Northern Regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who appeared on Diamond FM Power Drive lauded the initiative, and re-echoed the need for peace and unity among the various political parties in the region.

The NPP Northern Regional chairman before appearing on Diamond Power Drive supports the registration and renewal of National Health Insurance Cards to vulnerable widows and orphans with Gh₵1,000.

“We will continue to support Diamond FM for this initiative. These are the things we want the good people of Ghana to be doing in the region”, he added.

Other communicators for the major political parties that appeared on the Power Drive commended Diamond FM for always taking the lead in such projects before others in the region.

The leader of Shia Muslim community in the Northern Region commended management of Diamond FM for taking up such an initiative to support the needy in society.

Sheikh Dalhu speaking with Abdulai Abdul Gafaru, however called on management of Diamond FM to extend the initiative to other parts of the region to save lives saying, “I am ready to partner with you to support the needy in society. This is a “Jihad” you are fighting and we must support you to accomplish the agenda”, he stated.

Sheikh after speaking to Diamond FM later presented two young mango trees to Management of the station through his DALHU GREENING PROJECT.

Diamond FM organized the blood donation in aid of the blood bank at both Tamale Teaching Hospital and West Hospital, as part of activities to climax this year DIAMOND DAMBA FESTIVAL. Over 200 units of blood were assembled for both Tamale Teaching Hospital and West Hospital.

Some of the blood donors expressed their excitement on why they chose the live saving event organized by Diamond FM while some of the people who had the opportunity to be captured on health insurance scheme also thanked Diamond FM for the gesture.

Meanwhile, Ziblim Adam, who led the team from the Tamale Teaching Hospital, has commended Diamond FM for the exercise, saying this will go a long way to improve blood supply at the blood banks of the health facilities.

He also encouraged other radio stations in the region to emulate same.
