Northern regional director of the urban roads department SiisiDarko has revealed that technical and preparatory works are underway for the construction of the first interchange in Tamale.
He mentioned that, engineers from Geo tech, surveyors, environmental engineers, traffic study experts and other technical persons are currently doing the grounds work towards the execution of the project.
Speaking on the Diamond power drive Tuesday morning, SiisiDarko explained that a befitting compensation package is being arranged for persons that will be affected during the construction process.
It will be recalled that, Finance Minster Ken Offori Atta presenting the 2019 budget statement to Parliament announced that, the Tamale interchange is one of the roads projects using the US 646.63 billion sinohydro lone.
The project will be the first interchange to be constructed in the Northern part of Ghana.
The project, when completed is expected to ease traffic within the business district of Tamale
