Communities in the Bamvim Electoral Area tag their DCE and MP as “Non Performers.”

Some communities within the Bamvim Electoral Area in the North East Gonja District of the Savanna Region have brushed aside their political differences by teaming up against their DCE and the Member of Parliament for the area by tagging them as “non performers.”

The communities; Vagyili, Sakpalua, Kpinchila, Banvum, and Komlanyili, in a press statement issued to Diamond News and jointly signed by the executives of the two major political parties; the NDC and NPP in these communities accused the MP; Alhassan Mumuni and DCE; Abdullah Alhassan Iddi of paying little attention to the developmental challenges on the ground.

According to them, the roads in their communities have been in a deplorable state for several years and promises from authorities and subsequent governments to fix them had all failed.

The communities in expressing their frustration said the lack of good roads and electricity were having negative impacts on their lives, especially the women who have to travel long-distance to the grinding mill.

The Vagyili, Sakpalua, Kpinchila, Banvum, and Komlanyili communities warned that boycotting the 2020 political activities remain an option, if their developmental challenges remain unfixed.

Pastor Tia Dokurugu who speaks for the communities remarked to Diamond News: “We are not satisfied with their works in our communities. Both the NPP and NDC leadership have refused to change their dancing style in the area and continue singing the old song for us whenever they come to our communities.”

Pastor Tia further warned: “The MP and the DCE have failed us, and we are telling them that, if we do not see any developmental projects in our various communities in the coming months, we would resist any political party who intends holding political activities in our communities.”
