Tamale: Police shot TV Africa correspondent during a raid at Changli

Northern Regional reporter of TV Africa Mr Kamal has been been hit with a bullet at CHANGLI where he was on official duty to report on the recent incident there over security raid in the area earlier on Saturday.

The TV Africa’s Mohammed Kamil Baba has been hit by a missile in the head while covering the incident.

Even though doctors say the object that hit him was not a bullet, the TV Africa Northern Regional Correspondent who was recently named by the GJA as the Best Northern Regional Journalist in an interaction with diamondfmonline.com said the object hit him from the direction of the police who according to him were shooting at the “unarmed residents”.

The police raided Changli community at dawn on Saturday, and arrested at least 134 people in connection with the attack of a police woman who had gone to the area to arrest a lady suspected to be engaged in a theft case.

After the raid, Mr Baba Kamil was in the community to report on the issue but was caught up in the second confrontation between the police and the community members.

Mr Baba Kamil is however in a stable condition and is currently on admission at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
