Habib wins Tolon Constituency for NPP

The Deputy Director of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, has been declared winner for the Tolon constituency parliamentary seat.

He won the seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with ease in Monday’s general elections.

The NPP’s MP-elect won with a difference of 9,284 votes after polling 31,429 votes as against his main challenger, Adam Yussif Naanyema of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who managed only 22,145 votes, whiles Charles Adam of the APC also polled 266 votes.

The presidential candidate for the NPP, Nana Akuffo-Addo also performed better in the Tolon constituency having garnered 29,407, in the presidential race as against ex-President John Mahama who polled 23,138 votes.

In the other presidential results, GUM had 153, CPP 65, GFP 22, GCPP 34, APC 77, LGP 98, PNC 65, PPP 11, NDP 25 and the independent candidate had 42.
