Zabzugu District Assembly hands over four(4) bedroom police accommodation facility to Nakpali Traditional area

The Management of the Zabzugu District Assembly led by Hon. Ahmed Abubakari Adarkwa, has handed over the keys of four-bedroom newly constructed police accommodation facility to the chiefs and people of Nakpali traditional area.

 The facility was built as part of the assembly’s effort to enhance the capacity of the Police in promoting security as well as assisting in addressing the accommodation needs of the police personnel who would be posted to the Nakpali Area Council Police Station. The building funded by the assembly through its district development found (DDF) estimated at GH₵ 245,000.oo will serve as the Police Station Officers bungalow in the area.

At a short ceremony to hand over the facility, the district chief executive (DCE) Ahmed Abubakari Adarkwa, on behalf of the assembly indicated the construction and completion of the facility would complement the existing yet to be commissioned police station block constructed by the assembly since 2016.  

“We are doing this because we want Nakpali area council to have a security post”, he added.

He said the assembly would continue to collaborate with Northern Regional Police Command to ensure police personnel posted to the Nakpali area council police station.

“Whatever we will do to ensure that our efforts will be answered by the Regional Police Command, we will do that. Security is dear to my heart as far as the district and Nakpali area council is concern”, he said.

The DCE in his remarks also believe that, the establishment of a Police Post in the area would enable the district to fight violent extremism and terrorism in the area.

“If we have a police post establish then we are more or less preparing ourselves to fight violent extremism and terrorism in the district”, he stated.

On his part, the member of parliament of the area, Hon. Jabaah John Bennam, while thanking the paramount Chief of Nakpali traditional area Naa Mahama Mahama for making land available for the construction of the facility, also revealed that his office is working hard to ensure police personnel are posted to the facility.

He added his outfit will collaborate with the assembly to ensure the facility is hooked into the national grid.

On their part, the Chief of Nakpali after receiving the keys pledge to onward forward it to the Regional Police Command.

He commended the DCE and the MP for putting up measures to fight crime in the area. “The establishment of police station would help check and reduce frequent attacks on us as well as ensure our safety, he added.

Meanwhile, the MP of the area Jabaah John Bennam, also as part of his two-day tour in his constituency also commissioned a two separate one bedroom newly constructed nurses accommodation at Waribogu a farming community within the Zabzugu District.

According to the MP, the provision of the nurse’s accommodation facility formed part of his efforts to ensure access to quality health care delivery especially among women and children in the area.

He thus urges the health practitioners in the area to be committed on their work to enable them provide quality health care delivery to the people.

The in charge of the facility, Hamza Dam, after receiving the keys of the building thanked the MP for the gesture, and appeal to the Zabzugu District Assembly to support the facility with motor bikes to facilitate their movement.
