Tamale Central MP begins construction of 20 mechanized boreholes within his constituency

The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Mohammed Ibrahim Murtala has begun the construction of 20 mechanized boreholes across the 18 wards within the constituency.

The gesture is in fulfillment of a promise he made to the people to construct 50 boreholes within the constituency to help solve the water challenges in the area.

“Changli and Gumbihini North are expected to receive two mechanized boreholes each in the first phase whiles the other 16 electoral areas will receive one each” the NDC Communication Officer for the Tamale Central Umar Abdul Razak stated.

At a short ceremony at the Gukpanaa’s Palace to handover a site for one of the boreholes to the contractor, he added that work on all the 20 sites is expected to start immediately and complete within the month.

“We have done some of these already and Honorable believes that this first phase will help reduce the challenges of the people in the constituency because he is providing them with clean water that they can use for everything” the NDC communication Officer added.

Assembly Member for the Buglan Fong Electoral Area, Fuseini Ukasha commended the Member of Parliament for fulfilling his promise to help solve the water challenges in the constituency.

“We are very grateful to our MP and we hope he will continue like this, because if you visit the hospitals within the number of people reporting with water related disease is not a small number, all because people are resorting to unclean water”
