Supervisors and teachers warned against helping candidates writing the ongoing WACE examinations across the country.

The Northern regional Minister, SalifuSa-eed has warned supervisors and teachers to desist from making attempts to assist candidates writing the ongoing WACE examinations across the country.

He said, the candidates must be allowed the do independent work as part of their formation and building them up to become responsible, honest and transparent leaders.

Speaking to news men during an inspection tour on the first day of the BECE exam in Tamale, the Minister urged the students to put up their best to enable them benefit from the NPP government free senior high school policy.

Meanwhile the Northern Regional Education Director, Mohammed Haroon, has revealed that some 64 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Chereponi District are to be escorted by security personnel to the Chereponi Senior High School to write their examinations.

He explained that, the affected candidates would be accommodated and protected by the security throughout the exams period to ensure their safety.

Alhaji Haroun Cambodia indicated that the security personnel would again escort the affected candidates to their various communities after the examinations.

The BECE candidates, it would be recalled, urged the leaders of the Anafo and Kokombas to cease fire to make way for them to participate in the exams.

Schools in the Chereponi area have been shutdown and teachers have fled the area for fear of their lives.

The Northern Region has 29,772 candidates, North East region 9,272 and Savannah region 4,917 candidates.

A total of 936 basic schools have registered 23,557 boys and 20, 404 females across 148 centers within the Northern region. Olam Grains Ghana Limit
