Sports Callers Association of Ghana Northern Regional Branch Calls on RFA Chairman

Executives and members of the Sports Callers Association (SCA) of Ghana, Northern Regional Branch on Thursday, 24th September, 2020 paid a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) chairman, Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzo at the RFA secretariat.

The visit according to chairman of the SCA Mohammed Awal Osman Essovalle was to first of all congratulate him for his election almost a year ago and to also wish him well in his journey to transform football in the Northern Region.

They were welcomed into the RFA secretariat by the chairman Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzo and his secretary  Abdul Karim Abdul Gafaru. Chairman Rhyzo in his welcome address thanked the leadership of the SCA in the northern region and challenged them to share ideas that would help develop football in the region with him since according to him they are “major stakeholders” in sports.

Alhaj Rhyzo further implored the members of the SCA in the region to show decorum in their contribution to sports discussions and to set favorable agendas for sport development.

He further urged them to learn all aspects of sports in order to mirror their name as “sports callers” by knowing a little about all sporting disciplines and must let it show when contributing to discussions on sports. Since this will be the basis upon which the society will see them as a useful group of people who deserve attention.

Alhaj Rhyzo took the opportunity to educate the members of the SCA on what his administration has done so far since they assumed office in the midst of the Anas number 12 expose and the covid 19 pandemic. He said they taught it wise at the executive committee level of the RFA to work on some football pitches at Kaladan and Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium Annex II which he   said were being prepared ahead of the resumption of football in Ghana. He said those were at various stages of completion and that the Nanumba North Municipal Football Association had sent an appeal for him to assist them with a football pitch since they were being sacked from playing matches at the Bimbilla Senior High School park. He added that plans were far advanced to grant them that wish by developing a game center for them.

Alhaj Rhyzo said since inaugurating his working committees they have started working in earnest. He said the medical committee was in the process of designing a first aid box for all teams to ensure the safety of their players and that the committee was also doing a radio sensitization program on the required diet for players to keep them healthy.

He added that the Data and Statistics Committee was in the process of doing cluster based training for teams across the region on registration which he said was a problem they had identified even though it is not part of their mandate.

Alhaj Rhyzo on behalf of his regional executive committee thanked the members of the SCA for coming and promised that his doors were open for them anytime they wished to engage him on any matter of importance to football in the region.
