Tamale Central MP hands over three(3) Unit Classroom Block to Al-Intisuriyya E/A Primary School

The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central Constituency, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala, has handed over an ultra-modern three-unit classroom block and an office complex project to the staff and pupils of AL-INTISURIYYA E/A Primary School of the Tamale Metropolis.

School children at the Lamakara Electoral Area can now learn in a well-furnished classroom for effective teaching and learning after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Tamale Central lawmaker, handed over the well-furnished facility with offices to the Tamale Metropolitan Education Directorate on Friday January 14, 2022.

The project was initiated by the former lawmaker for Tamale Central Lawyer Inusah Fuseini, but it was completed by the current MP in the area.

The school, which has an enrolment of almost 200 pupils has been battling with serious infrastructural challenges for several years.

According to the residents, the handing over of the facility would go a long way to address challenges of congestion in the classrooms.

Speaking to Diamondfmonline.com, elders of the community who could not hide their happiness however commended the MP for ensuring the construction and completion of the new school block in the community.

They indicated that such a commitment and the zeal to serve the people of the area are positively impacting the lives of people in the area.

Addressing the media after commissioning the facility, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala noted that the completion of the facility was in fulfilment of a pledge he made after taken over from the former MP for Tamale Central constituency Inusah Fuseini who initiated the project.

“This is what politics is all about. The former MP started the project; he couldn’t finish it. You don’t start a new project. What you do is that you continue with the existing project and complete it, and so that is what I did. They still need additional extra classrooms. I am assuring them I will do my best to get them additional three class rooms to make the school complete”, he said.

He added that his outfit will continue to work extra hard towards improving the educational sector within the Tamale Central constituency.

He therefore appealed to both teachers and community members to pay good attention to the facility and ensure it is put to good use.

The Tamale central legislature during the handover ceremony said his outfit has initiated series of developmental projects which include construction of Health Centres and water projects among others within the consituency.

The Tamale Metro Director of Education, Amatus D Tug-uu, expressed gratitude to the MP for his continue commitment towards uplifting the standard of education within the Tamale Metropolis.

Meanwhile, the Tamale Central lawmaker after commissioning the new class room block, also donated hundred bags of cement towards the construction of Marikaziyya Mosque complex within Zogbeli electoral area.

The elders of the Marikaziyya Mosque after receiving the items thanked the MP for the gesture.
