S/R: NPP Chair urges MDCEs to work closely with assembly members.
The Savanna Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana popular known as Professor Kalamonia, has admonished the five MDCEs in the region to work closely with party people and the various assembly members to ensure unity and rapid development in the region.
According to him, it is prudent for the MDCEs in the region to acknowledge the efforts of both party people and assembly members towards their confirmation.
Professor Kalamonia gave the advice at a swearing in ceremony for the five Municipal and District Chiefs Executives who have been confirmed by their various assemblies in the Savanna region.
The NPP chair, reminded the five MDCEs that “from today, people will start to weigh your weakness and strength, I want to appealed to my five MDCEs that you were part of us, what I mean is all of you knows what the party and government seek for the region”.
“Don’t say I am the DCE say we are the DCEs, including constituency, polling station, electoral area and regional executives to the regional minister, lets acknowledge everybody to be part of us, don’t say this is for me therefore I can only decide as to what to do, remember assembly men they were part of your confirmation, remember presiding members they presided over your selections, remember party people who run form day and night looking for your confirmation they are part of your success, people who accompanied you to Damongo for your swearing in are also part of your successes”, he stated.
Professor Kalamonia also added that, “I am appealing to you that, cover your ears, your noise and your mouth, and open up your eyes, only see before you judged, today they will be a lot of informants, who will come to you saying this man wasn’t supporting you, and I can see all the aspirants who were competing with you are all present and so please, there is no enemy among us”.
Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana emphasized the need for the various MDCEs in the region to support government policies for the betterment of the youth in the region.
The newly sworn in Municipal and District Chief Executives took an oath of office, oath of allegiance and the oath of secrecy conducted by the registrar of the Bole District Magistrate Court, His Worship, Edward Essel.
The five MDCEs who has been sworn into office include Musah Karim Kusubari (West Gonja Municipality); Adam Eliasu (North Gonja District) and Iddrisu Salia Kamara (Central Gonja District). The rest are Madam Losina Barikisu Watara (Sawla-Tuna-Kalba) and Musah Mohammed Tindawu (North East Gonja District).
The other MDCEs who were not part of the swearing in process could not meet the required percentage during the confirmation; they are Salaga Municipal and Bole District.
