“Chairman Samba paid a debt, not a donation”, CYG-Tamale.

The Concern Youth Groups of NPP(CYG-TAMALE) has said the GhC 72,000 donation by the Northern regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party during the party’s regional delegates conference in Nyankpala was originally meant for the various constituencies.

At a press conference in Tamale, the group explained that, “because of the organization of the Northern Regional Annual Delegates Conference, the party gave money to regional executives for which each of the eighteen (18) constituencies is supposed to be given Ten thousand Ghana cedis (GHC10,000.00)”.

Below is the statement that was read by Secretary of the group, Napadow Clifford Atchulo.

8th October, 2021

CHAIRMAN SAMBA SEEKS ATTENTION FROM AUDIENCE DURING THE NORTHERN REGIONAL ANNUAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE; WORKING WITH PRAISE SINGERS FOR SARCASTIC PRAISES.

Chairman Samba’s tricks is using other people’s effort to take credits which Concern Youth Groups of NPP(CYG-TAMALE) exposed a couple of months ago but he has started it again this time round with a new twist. He cuts peoples toes and used the blood to paint them in other to make them look red.

How can you pay a debt and call it a donation? If NPP sympathizers will recall, in 2019 there were GetFund projects assigned to be awarded to each of the constituencies in the region.

Chairman Samba sold the contracts to different contractors and told the constituencies he was going to give them (GHC 60,000.00) sixty thousand Ghana Cedis each as proceeds from their constituency GetFund contracts. He later gave each constituency a deposit of Thirty thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC30,000.00) leaving outstanding amount of thirty thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 30,000.00).

Also because of the organization of the Northern Regional Annual Delegates Conference, the party gave money to regional executives for which each of the eighteen (18) constituencies is supposed to be given Ten thousand Ghana cedis (GHC10,000.00).

Ironically, Chairman Samba added the said amounts, the outstanding thirty thousand Ghana cedis (GHC30,000.00) from the contracts plus the ten thousand Ghana cedis (GHC10,000.00) making it forty thousand Ghana cedis (GHC40,000.00) which belongs to the constituencies and announced it to them as a personal donation or supports to them when in actual fact the constituencies are the original owners of the money.

What a scam? The said money is not donations from Chairman Samba rather it is money he owes the constituencies. We therefore entreat polling stations executives and youth groups of various constituencies to demand for accountability.

The truth has also emanated that the leadership of chairman samba works for praises not for prosperity and progress. From what happened at the Regional annual delegates conferences in Yendi and Nyankpala, one will come to a conclusion that Chairman Samba’s prosperity and progress satisfaction is to hear sarcastic praises from his praise singers with multi titles and so when he was making his speech at the delegate conference in Nyakpala and was not getting any praise or applause from his recruited sarcastic praise singers he has to request for same by asking in the local language “Yiku Kpahi-nuu Tima”? Meaning won’t you clap for me? True party leaders do not beg for applause from supporters, it is your leadership truthfulness, style and charisma that will give you their attention when you address them.

How can a leader who would have been delivering a good speech to his party people seeks for their attention? If not because he is aware that they have lost trust and confidence in him. It was an embarrassing moment when he was struggling to get the attention of party sympathizers the National Executives notice this and turn looking at each other in dismay.

There is an old Dagbani adage that says “Lies is like a pregnancy no matter how long you hide it, when the time comes it will be exposed” and so Chairman Samba is now an exposed pregnancy to NPP sympathizers especial the grassroots supporters.

We will like to remind chairman Samba that the Zogbeli inner city roads are still in the state in which he left them. The Nanton district assembly complex is sitting there to the mercy of bad weather. The UDS Nyankpala campus to Kumbungu road is troubling communities along it and commuters who ply it. If he has money to dash out, then it should be channeled towards those projects because it is giving government a bad name.

Also, chairman Samba’s attitude of profligate spending is portraying the NPP as a party reserve for the rich people and people who are not well to do are scare to join it because they feel they may be left out or not reorganized. We will entreat him to change his attitude of profligate spending towards developmental in other to attract more of the youth in the region and people in the lower economic brackets to the party.

To conclude, Northern Regional, Delegates are discerning people and so please Chairman Samba stop downplaying with their wisdom. They know all your dirty tricks but they are waiting for the right time to let you know their eyes are open. Thank you!

Signed

Napadow Clifford Atchulo

(Secretary CYG NPP)
