PPP Northern Regional Deputy Organizer Joins NPP

The Northern Regional Deputy Organizer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Mohammed Seidu has on Thursday May 11, 2023, officially announced his defection to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said his decision has been necessitated by the current progress in the body politics of Ghana under the New Patriotic Party. “The development of this country under the leadership of NPP is enormous”.

At a brief interaction with the media to announced his decision at the NPP Northern Regional office, Mohammed Seidu who is also PPP Communication Officer for the Savulegu constituency indicated that, the governing NPP is the only political party that has the solution for the forward march of the country despite the current difficulties engulfed the nation.

According to him, NPP is a national party with tradition that dates back to pre-independence, and as a result, defecting to the NPP by any Ghanaian means reverting to your mother party.

He described his defection to the NPP as a case of a lost son who has returned home to his parents.

He explained further that, “after carefully studying, interacting and analyzing the leadership of the PPP, I have come to the sad conclusion that the PPP is not a party one can make political progress with”.

“I therefore, on behalf of my teaming supporters and on my humble self, denounce the PPP and resign my membership and declare my full membership and support for the great elephant family- the NPP,” he declares.

“We, of this generation with good conscience should not expect forgiveness and compassion. If it’s recorded in the annals of history that we were not part of the people supporting the right cause with our votes and resources to bring sustainable development and prosperity to our dear nation. I wash my hands off this treachery,” he said.

“To my supporters, the good people of Savelugu constituency, the entire Northern Region and all other well-meaning sympathizers of the elephant family, I call on you to join me as I embark on this endless journey with you to work hard to break the 8 and continue the good works with innovation for our dear country Ghana”, he pledges.
