Some angry youth groups of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Sagnarigu constituency, have threatened to ensure the party lose the Sagnarigu Parliamentary seat come 2024, if the delegates of the constituency failed to kick out the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Honorable A.B.A Fuseini come May 13, 2023.
According to them, the incumbent MP of the area had failed them, and therefore should be kicked out come on Saturday.
Yussif Adam, Convenor of the Die Hard Youth group, who speaks on behalf of the groups’ members indicated that, the MP in his 12yrs in charge of the constituency has failed to lobby for more developmental projects for the area and therefore should be booted out.
“We have fought for him during the last general elections but what did we get in return? Nothing. Some of us are graduates. Others are artisans. But, he has failed to support us to secure jobs. If other MPs are doing it why can’t he also do the same?”, he quizzed.
“Just look at our roads, they are all not in good shape. It will be very difficult for you to have access to some of the communities during the rainy season, and we have an MP who has held the post of a Deputy Northern Regional Minister before. For me, I will say we don’t have an MP”, he burst out.
“In fact, we don’t want him anymore. We are tired of him. We thought he can help to transform our lives, and develop the constituency. But now, we have realized that he doesn’t care about us, not to talk of developing the constituency”, he noted.
“We will be forced to vote against the party if the delegates vote for him”, he threatened
Speaking on behalf of the other groups, Yussif Adam thus, call on the delegates to give their mandate to Mr. Attah Issah, come Saturday May 13, 2023.
Five persons including the National Accountant of the opposition NDC Mr. Atta Issah, is contesting the incumbent MP for the Sagnarigu constituency Honorable A.B.A Fuseini who was elected to parliament in 2012.
The main opposition NDC will hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023, to elect a flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 general elections.
