Oboye Azima claim of Haojue Motor Cycle prices are nothing but lies- Evame Motors

The Country Director of Evame Motors, Mr. Akpah Koffiv Jules, has responded to the claims by Alhaji Oboye Azima who is a motor dealer within the Tamale Metropolis.

According to Mr. Akpah, the assertion by Oboye Azima with regard to the price of Haojue motorcycles within the greater Tamale was untrue and therefore people should disregard it.

About few days ago, Evame Motors Ghana, the sole importer of Haojue motorcycles in the country were caught in controversy as the main distributer of Haojue motorcycle. Alhaji Oboye Azima blamed the company for the increment of the motorcycles particularly Haojue (HJ110-5) known as ‘Dash-5’ which has since generated a social media banter among consumers.

However, the country Director of Evame Motors, in an interview with Diamondfmonline.com said the statement by Oboye Azima that, he Oboye was fighting the company for the consumer interest was not true but rather he was enjoying more profit at the expense of the public.

He said Alhaji Oboye Azima on March 25, 2022, took a delivery of 400 motorbikes which included 100 pieces of the Haojue (HJ110-5) from Evame Motor Ghana, with a wholesale price for Haojue (HJ110-5) Dash-5 at GH¢7,200 and the retail price at GH¢ 7,600.

He explained further that, “the problem we have with one of our dealers Oboye is that we supplied him some motorbikes. Infact, they don’t buy it in cash. We gave him 400 out of 800 but told him to come back for the remaining trench of 400 bikes when he finish selling the first batch. So immediately we supplied him the motor bikes, the following day the dollar went up, and we increased our prices. And so, I called all our dealers in the country to inform them about the new prices, and they all accepted it but Oboye said he will not accept it.

“And so, we told him if he would not accept it, we will give it to him at the old price. And so, we expected him to sell the motorbikes to people at the old price which is GHc7,600, but he rather sells it at the new price of GH¢8,100 and had GH¢900 profit on each motor. And the last time, they granted him an interview and he said he sold it at GH¢ 8,100. Why did he sell it at Gh¢8,100?”, he queries.

“We are planning to establish our factory which will employ about 1200 direct workers within Tamale. So if one person wants to destroy it, it is on them. If they don’t want to see Haojue company in Tamale we are ready to park our baggage and leave. But I know it will have a serious repercussions on the people we employed. We are here to help people but not only an individual”, he stated.

Commenting on the hikes of price on Haojue Motorcycles, Mr. Akpah Koffiv, said the price hikes on their products was as a result of high exchange rate and the increment of import duties to 20 percent.

He stated that, the shortage of raw materials in China in the midst of Covid-19 and the increase of shipping fees from $2,500 to $8,000 and $10,000 dollars affect the price of Haojue products, “because Haojue is number one in China and we don’t want to compromise on quality; we want to maintain the quality of our motor bikes, and our quality can’t be compared to others”, he claimed.

The wholesale price for the motorcycles particularly Haojue (HJ110-5) known as Dash-5 currently is GHS7,900, and the retail price is at GH¢ 8,100.

Have your motorcycles and ride them by yourselves. Import as many as you can and you can be changing them like your underwears
