NPP’s free SHS unrealistic and impracticable – Nurideen Iddrisu

A Flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress Alhaji Nurideen Iddrisu believes President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) free Senior High School (SHS) program is impracticable and unrealistic.

Even though, he believes the idea of ensuring that every child gets a minimum of secondary education is plausible, Alhaji Iddrisu sees the current approach as lazy since it is not based on a proper needs assessment which evaluates the capabilities of parents, communities and current infrastructure.

Alhaji Nurideen Iddrisu who was speaking to radiogold905.com in an exclusive interview believes the current approach will fail after exposing the current government’s knack for experimentation and lack of proper planning.

He said a Nurideen Iddrisu government will carry out a total overhaul of the current policy and followed by a proper needs assessment which will target needy students who needs government’s assistance whiles introducing measures which will significantly reduce the cost of SHS education.

Alhaji Nurideen Iddrisu also says a government led by him will also aggressively pursue infrastructure development and teacher training that will bring education closer to the Ghanaian child thereby reducing the need for poor parents to foot boarding or hosten fees for their students.
