The Yendi Constituency Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Abukari Sadiq popularly known as Chairman Nam, and other constituency executives has responded to the statement by the Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP Alhaji Sibdow Alhassan Yakubu.
The executives in a press statement copied to Diamondfmonline.com, still insists that “the album that was outdoored at the Yendi Community Centre is the only true album in the Constituency and nothing can change it. It is authentic, original and reflect the true dynamics of the Yendi constituency”.
It will be recalled that, the Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP on Monday March 21, 2022 issued a statement placing on record that, the Yendi constituency has one and only one constituency album which was prepared by the Yendi Elections Committee set up on the directives of the National Council of the NPP.
Alhaji Sibdow issues the statement, after the Yendi constituency NPP chairman Abukari Sadiq, held a press briefing over the weekend, and announced the compilation of another delegates album for the constituency.
However, chairman Nam and his other executives in a rejoinder, described the statement by the NPP Northern Regional Secretary as ridiculous.
“It is ridiculous that the Regional Chairman through the Regional Secretary has suddenly found his voice in all these brouhaha in the constituency ever since the guidelines for the reorganization of the party started at the polling station levels.
“The Constituency Chairman and 9 other members of the Constituency Executive Committee have sent series of petitions both to the Regional and National levels of the party but there has not been a single response”, they sated.

-REJOINDER RE – YENDI CONSTITUENCY HAS ONE ALBUM
Our attention has been drawn to a rejoinder to the press conference that was addressed by the Yendi Constituency Chairman to formally outdoor the Yendi Constituency Album which is made up of all 147 Polling Stations and 30 Electoral Areas.
It is ridiculous that the Regional Chairman through the Regional Secretary has suddenly found his voice in all these brouhaha in the Constituency ever since the guidelines for the reorganization of the party started at the polling station levels. The Constituency Chairman and 9 other members of the Constituency Executive Committee have sent series of petitions both to the Regional and National levels of the party but there has not been a single response.
The first Petition was dated 25th February, 2022 to the Chairman of the Constituency Polling Station and Electoral Area Elections Committee over the conduct of the Committee and copied to the Regional Chairman and the General Secretary. To date, no response.
A letter of complaint was also sent to the National Chairman over these same unresolved issues.
The letter of complaint dated 4th March, 2022 and copied to the Office of the President, The General Secretary, Director of Research and Elections, The Regional Executive Committee and the Elections Committee Chairman. Yet no response.
Ten Members out of the Constituency Executive Committee signed a petition to Hon Alhaji
Malik Alhassan Yakubu who is one ofthe founding members of the New Patriotic Party in the Northem Region. We sought his intervention to the impasse. This petition to the founding member did not also see the light of the day though he spoke to the General Secretary on that.
Aside these efforts by the Constituency Chairman and some Constituency Executives, some aggrieved youth demonstrated on the streets to register their displeasure and a press conference held to draw the attention of the Regional Chairman to the brewing issues in the constituency that needed urgent attention.
In all of these, the Regional Secretariat never cared to come down to the constituency to really ascertain what was happening. It is therefore preposterous and dereliction of duty to say the least, for this kind of statement to be coming from the Regional Secretariat.
The unity and cohesion of the party should be a priority to the Regional Secretariat but this statement coming from his outfit smirks of serious neglect of duty.
For the records, the album that was out doored at the Yendi Community Centre is the only true album in the Constituency and nothing can change it. It is authentic, original and reflecßthe true dynamics of the Yendi Constituency. Thank you.
